Nellis Air Force Base. The 14,000-acre Nellis Air Force Base is the home to the United States military’s most advanced air combat training and test site. Nellis is commonly referred to as the “Home of the Fighter Pilot.” Among the aircraft at Nellis Air Force Base that pilots are trained on include: HH-60G helicopters, RQ -1A and MQ-1 Predator remotely piloted aircraft, A-10, F-15C, F-15E, F-22A, and F-16.
